My Blog Is Live ... Ooopps same launch day as iPhone4

Ta-daaaaa!

This is the official launch day for my blog and it happens to coincide with the day Apple also released the  iPhone 4.  Hmmm... perhaps I should have planned a little better!  Seriously though, if you've passed by an Apple store today or saw the frenzy on the news networks like CNN then you would have seen people like Seth Herren who camped out since Tuesday at 10am to get his hands on the new device.  Talk about a dedicated guy!  If you saw any of the clips on TV then you would have also seen that Apple was giving away free bagels and coffee to folks who camped out.  Well ... seeing that my blog's release date coincides with Apple's big day I'm offering up a 'virtual bagel' and a 'virtual cup of coffee' to anyone who has been patiently standing in line waiting for my blog to launch.  Anyone there... anyone there .... cricket .. cricket... cricket.  Oh well!

We'll there is no disputing that the iPhone 4 is a kick-ass device and Apple has nailed it again ... I'm hoping that my blog in its own way becomes a 'kick-ass' contribution to the blogoshere and something that you'll enjoy a lot.

My blog is inspired by my belief in the 'digital lifestyle' - a lifestyle that means you can make money online and that you can free up time by leveraging technology to work smartly.  These new found hours in the day can be used to achieve work-life balance and find adventures in fun places like Belize and Finland or take up new hobbies.

In reality, I'm certainly not the first to be writing about designing a 'digital lifestyle' but I do have some thoughts that many of you may relate to.   I'm designing a a life for myself that allows me to:

Live Well - I believe that a healthy body, mind, and soul is the foundation for enjoying a fun and experience-rich life.  However, as a Dad to an amazing 3-year old and as a husband who tries to be the best possible hubby I find work-life balance challenging at times. But I'm starting to find the balance again.

Work Smart - I enjoy my career but I look for ways to leverage technology and new concepts so that I can increase my productive (sounds geeky right?); thus freeing up time to do more in other areas of my life.

Seek Adventure - In today's 'always on' world I believe that you can work and live anywhere and still create value so I'm seeking out opportunities to explore new places and find new experiences while still managing my career, businesses, and staying in contact with those who I love.

Find Abundance - Abundance to me is more than financial wealth -- but don't get me wrong ...money is a big part of my digital lifestyle because it enables me to live well, work smartly, and seek adventure.  Abundance is also about sharing moments with the people that I care for and about things that are important to me like learning and sharing.

Each of the four pillars in my "Digital Lifestyle" work together ... kind of like a 'mini system'.  When things are humming well ....  progress in one area contributes to success in other areas.

So this is the essence of my digital lifestyle and what my blog is all about.  I won't pretend to have all the answers and if the truth be told I think it would be really boring being a person who has 'all the answers' so I'm reaching out to people who I find interesting and sharing what I learn from them with people like you.

So sign-up to follow my blog by email or RSS and get involved in the dialogue.  I have a feeling that we can learn a lot from each other and achieve the digital lifestyle!

A geeky "business-internetty" guy,
